HellBent Design Studio, led by architect Jamie Broadbent, approached Vernacular seeking to strategically refocus their digital presence away from commercial work and onto luxury residential projects, specifically coastal and mountain homes in Maine. Despite their exceptional designs and nearly two decades of experience, they needed to better communicate their expertise in the field of luxury residential projects. Historically relying on referrals from their former employer, the studio recognized a need to enlist the help of an experienced marketing firm to take their strategy and outreach to the next level.

Our engagement began with an immersive brand positioning process, where we guided HellBent’s leadership through a comprehensive discovery session to uncover what distinguished their residential work from other architects in the area. We found that what set them apart was their integration of sustainable innovation, a sense of adventure, and the thoughtful conception and creation of spaces that harmonize beautifully with Maine’s landscapes. This brand work session led to the development of their refined voice and tone, as well as an organic messaging framework that communicates their unique approach to architecture.

Building on this strategic foundation, we conducted a comprehensive website audit in order to identify specific opportunities to align their digital presence with their luxury residential focus while also removing emphasis on commercial work. This analysis included technical SEO recommendations to improve visibility for relevant, shelter-industry specific search terms, design evaluation against luxury architecture standards, as well as a content audit to revise any website copy to meet the new standards set during our brand work. Following the implementation of these recommendations, HellBent’s digital presence now effectively showcases their focus on luxury residential projects in order to attract inquiries from potential clients seeking to build exceptional coastal and mountain homes throughout Maine.
